This is my first after-the-job-market post. I just got a position at INSEAD, www.insead.edu. It is a wonderful place for economics, ranked 6th on the MBA ranking of the Financial Times. I’m starting in september and in the meantime I’m writing the 3rd paper of my thesis, to be presented in Paris on April 29.
News this week: Alistair Darling presents the budget on wednesday at 11am GMT. We expect: (i) above-inflation rises in the price of alcohol (ii) a £30,000 flat tax on non-domiciliaries (iii) a 3 percentage point cut of the corporation tax. These measures fight conservatives on their own ground. Ironically, the second proposal was originally from the conservatives.
